Common Conditions We Treat

At Israel Functional Medicine Centers, we treat a wide range of conditions affecting people of every age. Our goal is always to select the lowest risk, most natural solution to any disease or illness. Below is a list of some of the most common conditions we treat.

ADHD

ADHD is a neurodevelopmental disorder that causes problems of not paying attention, excess activity, or difficulty controlling one’s behavior.
Victims of ADHD often report a feeling of “brain fog” and an inability to complete tasks. ADHD also affects academic and work performance.
Our functional medicine approach addresses ADHD by looking at the entire person for possible causes, including diet issues, emotional blocks, nutritional deficiencies, and more.
We have helped many patients improve their attention span, moderate their activity levels, and control their behavior more effectively.

Anxiety

Anxiety is incredibly prevalent in our modern society. For many, anxiety is an occasional and passing emotion. For others, anxiety is a seemingly all-consuming reality that impacts daily life.
Ask any healthcare practitioner and they will tell you that a significant percentage of their patients suffer from anxiety, and many are taking prescription medications to manage it. The problem with prescription medications is that they may have unwelcome side-effects, and because they do not address the core problem of what is causing the anxiety in the first place.
Anxiety can lead to muscle spasms or tension and stress.

Every individual is different, but we find that common causes of anxiety include:

  • Adrenal deficiency
  • Toxins
  • Trauma
  • Poor sleeping habits
  • Emotional imbalance
Many of our patients benefit from emotional release techniques to treat their anxiety, sometimes in combination with targeted supplements or herbal remedies.

Chronic Fatigue

Chronic fatigue is a debilitating condition whose symptoms include drowsiness, lack of motivation, irritability, emotional imbalance, and deficits in attention, memory, and reaction time. Studies suggest that chronic fatigue lowers people’s quality of life with regards to vitality, physical functioning, general health, physical role, and social functioning.
Chronic fatigue takes an economic toll, costing affected Israel citizens millions of shekalim annually.

Every case of chronic fatigue is unique to the individual. Some causes for chronic fatigue include:

  • Viral infection
  • Yeast Infection
  • Hypothyroidism
  • Hypoadrenalism
  • Anemia
  • Poor nutrition
At Israel Functional Medicine Centers, we use a variety of natural, holistic treatment approaches to help patients with chronic fatigue.

Depression

The standard institutional medical approach to the treatment of depression is to put people on anti-depressants. Yet anti-depressants only treat the symptoms, not the causes.

We find that depression is often caused by:

  • Hormone imbalances
  • Trauma or emotional blocks
  • Poor diet
Oftentimes, the right combination of targeted supplements, herbal remedies, and emotional release techniques are all it takes to cure depression at its source.

Hormone Imbalance

Do you ever get the sense that you’re not living your best? That something is missing from your life? That you feel older than you should? That you don’t have the vitality you desire?
The cause may be a hormone imbalance.

Symptoms of hormone imbalance can include:

  • Just not feeling well
  • Low energy
  • Mood swings
  • Irritability
  • Weight gain
  • Chronic fatigue
  • Reproductive issues
  • Low libido
  • Anxiety
  • Inability to cope with challenges
At Israel Functional Medicine Centers, we identify hormone imbalances and make targeted recommendations to rectify them, leading to vastly improved vitality, health, and youthfulness.

Obesity

Obesity occurs when so much body fat has accumulated that it could negatively impact your health.
Obesity increases the risk of cardiovascular diseases, type 2 diabetes, obstructive sleep apnea, some forms of cancer, osteoarthritis, and depression.
Obesity can raise blood pressure, make breathing more difficult, and inhibit exercise and mobility. It can also cause fatigue.
The primary culprits behind today’s obesity crisis are a lack of exercise coupled with diets high in processed carbohydrates.

Other causes can include:

  • Lack of exercise
  • Hypothyroidism
  • Poor large intestine function
  • Hormone imbalance
  • Unresolved emotional trauma
At Israel Functional Medicine Centers, we take a holistic and person-centered approach to sustainable weight loss… without fad diets.
